This Code of Conduct outlines the values and expectations we uphold together. This isn’t about rules for the sake of rules. It’s about protecting what we’re building — our people, our platforms, and our possibilities.

We Lead With Honesty

We expect all partners to operate with truthfulness — in every listing, interaction, and engagement.

– Represent your services accurately
– Avoid exaggerated claims or false credentials
– Don’t imitate or impersonate other businesses or professionals
– Keep your promises, especially to customers and collaborators

Trust is our currency. Let’s protect it.

We Communicate Transparently

Open, respectful communication is the foundation of trust.

  • Keep your business listing up to date with accurate contact details

  • Respond to customer questions or feedback in a timely, respectful manner

  • If there’s a misunderstanding, approach it with maturity and a willingness to resolve

  • Avoid aggressive, manipulative, or dismissive language — in person or online

Caribbean Speaks reserves the right to edit or remove listings that reflect dishonest, aggressive, or misleading communication.

We Respect Privacy & Data

We don’t sell user data — and we expect you won’t either.

  • Only collect what you need to serve your customers

  • Never misuse or sell data gained from this platform

  • Honor privacy settings and opt-outs

  • Protect client data with reasonable security measures

We Do Business Ethically

We believe Caribbean business can be competitive without compromising values.

  • No false advertising, hidden fees, or shady practices

  • No discrimination — whether based on nationality, gender, race, religion, disability, or identity

  • Be licensed and legal in the markets where you operate

  • Respect local customs and operate with dignity

Integrity isn’t optional here — it’s our baseline.

We Do Not Tolerate Abuse

We have zero tolerance for any form of:

  • Harassment or threats

  • Exploitation of staff, customers, or users

  • Fraudulent activity or impersonation

  • Bullying or coercion online or offline

Abuse doesn’t just damage one person — it damages the trust we’re all building. If we receive a credible report, we will investigate and take appropriate action, which may include listing removal or permanent suspension.

Reporting Violations

If you see a business violating this code or harming the integrity of the platform:

  • Submit a confidential report via our Report a Business form

  • Provide as much detail as possible (screenshots, business name, issue)

  • We review every submission carefully and fairly

Your report stays private. False or abusive reports, however, may lead to account restrictions.
